Our School - Principal's Message

Welcome to The Assumption Primary School, Bathurst. Our school aims to be an extension of the home family - where children are welcomed, embraced and challenged to their personal best.

On behalf of our parish school community I welcome you to our website and invite you to spend time getting to know a little about the features and events that make Assumption Primary School a wonderful school community. We pride ourselves on Jesus and His mother Mary, being ever present in all that we do, and all that we aim to achieve, for the students of Assumption through the living of our school motto-

“To Jesus through Mary.”

Our school was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph, under the protection of Mary MacKillop & Fr Julian Tenison-Woods. It was the dream of the Sisters of St. Joseph to build a school community where each child was welcomed, where they would come to know our Catholic faith and where each child would reach their full academic potential. These dreams continue for us as a 21st century school community, proudly part of contemporary multicultural Australia.

The Assumption Primary School is a community enriched by the guidance of our priests, staffed by caring and professional teachers and support staff, and where the parent community works to support all staff and students. To be part of our parish school community, is to be part of a responsive, vibrant and celebratory community, working for all the children in our care.

Yours in faith-filled community,

Mrs. Sue Guilfoyle
Principal
